A wellness study by dietary supplement brand NYO3 has revealed magnesium as the supplement Americans are most curious about, based on nationwide Google searches.

The mineral pulled in more than half a million monthly searches (527,843), leaving other supplements trailing far behind in the rankings.

Vitamin D landed in second place with 358,543 monthly searches nationwide.

Dietary fibre squeezed into third place with 338,121 monthly searches across America.

Iron pulled in 330,993 monthly searches from Americans.

Popular adaptogen ashwagandha secured fifth position with 324,383 monthly searches.

Potassium (244,616 searches monthly), protein supplements (228,240 searches), zinc (194,693 searches), creatine (187,706 searches) and omega-3 (182,124 searches) made up the rest of the top ten places.

At the bottom end of the supplement popularity contest, several health products barely registered any interest at all. Four supplements tied for dead last with effectively zero monthly searches: 5-HTP, black cohosh, horny goat weed, and 4-aminobenzoic acid. These products, despite having specific uses for certain health conditions, failed to generate measurable search interest during the study period.
