UK-based supplements specialist Natures Aid has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade in recognition of its fast-growing export business.

The coveted award comes as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Natures Aid’s substantial export business already stands at around 30% of overall sales. With a prestigious Queen’s Award now under its belt, the company is now aiming for 50% of sales to be from export markets by the end of 2023.

The company emphasises that its “heartland” remains its independent health retail customers in the UK. But it says that back in 2011, on the back of increasing demand from overseas customers for quality British-made supplements, the business started to distribute the Natures Aid brand to pharmacy and retail partners around the world.

Ten years later, the company has a distribution network in more than 50 countries, focused on international pharmacies and independent retailers throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

“In just ten years, we have built a distribution network of more than 50 countries and it’s fantastic that this achievement has been recognised with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This award will further elevate the strong position we have in our international markets and help us remain on track to achieve 50% of sales from export by 2023 whilst navigating the challenges of the pandemic,” says Chris Morrey, managing director of Natures Aid.

Natures Aid’s two biggest export markets are Mongolia and Vietnam, representing 14% of the business’s export sales. Rapid growth in the Mongolia market has been driven by multiple products in the Natures Aid portfolio, including Mini Drops, its natural range of children’s supplements.

With approximately 75 new products launched over the past three years, Natures Aid has grown to offer a portfolio of more than 200 natural health supplements.
