Planet Organic Hampstead opening signals continuing commitment to ‘original mission’

London-based organic retail pioneer Planet Organic opened its thirteenth store in the capital earlier this week.

The new store, located on upscale Hampstead High Street, will include a cafe area, a large refill offer, a deep range of beauty and eco products and – in keeping with its other outlets – is committed to being zero food waste.

Commenting on this latest addition to the Planet store portfolio, buying director, Al Overton, said: “We’re delighted to finally open a store in Hampstead, especially in time for Christmas. Few parts of London have stronger communities and we’re anxious to become a meaningful, useful addition to the excellent high street.”

Acknowledging “challenging” recent times, Overton says Planet Organic has actually witnessed growing demand for organic and natural products directly as a result of the pandemic and parallel climate crisis. He adds: “Shoppers seek retailers that cater equally to their health and ecological concerns, and Planet Organic is reaching these customers with new stores and a growing online presence. We’ve been in business for more than 25 years and our original mission, eat well, live better, is more pertinent now than ever. We remain committed to it.”
