Germany’s Denns BioMarkt adds two more outlets to its 500-strong store portfolio

Germany organic retailer Denns BioMarkt opened two new outlets last week, further boosting its 500-strong store portfolio. The new stores are located Hamburg and Geesthacht. 

The retailer operates 350 Denns branches and around 150 independent BioMarkts across Germany and Austria, with the majority badged as BioMarts Verbund. 

Founded in 2003, Denns BioMarkt stores offer 6,000 certified organic products and produced total revenues in 2020 of €69 million (Statista). 

Intensive cooperation between natural food retailers
In 2020, in a “democratic merger of independent organic markets and Denns BioMarkt” a new umbrella brand – BioMarkt Verbund – was formed, which, the business describes as an “intensive type of cooperation between natural food retailers”.
