Holland & Barrett is set to increase its pay to store colleagues by 9%, from £10.05 to £11 an hour. The company says this will make it one of the highest-paying retailers on the high-street. Its distribution colleagues are to receive a 7 per cent increase from £10.71 to £11.46 an hour.
The new deal will start from April 1 and means the hourly rate for Holland & Barrett store colleagues has increased by 15 per cent in the last year.
Holland & Barrett operates over 700 stores and expanding ecommerce offering, employing over 5,000 people in the UK.
Anthony Houghton, chief operating officer UK & ROI, Holland & Barrett comments: “We’ve been helping customers improve their health and wellness for over 150 years, and our colleagues are at the heart of how we do this – offering products, services information and advice to support the wellness of their customers in communities across the UK. We know our wellness starts with theirs, so we’re delighted to be able to increase pay again for our hourly paid colleagues.”
H and B increase wages to err….just over the minimum wage! And that’s about the best in the High Street!
