NürnbergMesse has announced that it is launching a standalone BIOFACH AMERICA event. The first event will take place on June 2-4 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia.
The US organic market is the largest worldwide. In 2023, organic food sales totalled nearly USD 70 billion, a new record for the sector. Dollar sales for the American organic marketplace hit $69.7 billion last year, up 3.4 percent, according to the 2024 Organic Industry Survey released last week by the Organic Trade Association (OTA).
NürnbergMesse has confirmed that the new event will be entirely organic, and will cover the “whole organic value chain, from organic farming to retail”.
Prominent US organic sector commentator and founder of Organic Insider, Max Goldberg, says the development “may prove to be the most important development in the US organic industry ever since the USDA started implementing and overseeing the National Organic Program in 2002″.
Goldberg told Natural Newsdesk: “Even though our industry now totals nearly $70 billion, the reality is that we face many challenges from a variety of directions. Having a place where all market participants – brands, farmers, distributors, NGOs, USDA officials, politicians and service providers – can come together under one roof to build community and talk about these issues, all with a unified goal of strengthening organic, is absolutely critical.
“The rumours of an all-organic show in the US have been circulating for the last two years, and based on my conversations with industry leaders and the reactions I have seen on social media, people are incredibly excited.”
