Female-founded, eco-friendly and organic period care brand Flo has added another high street player to its retail reach by launching into 226 Sainsbury’s stores across the UK and online.
The plant-based, sustainable and socially impactful products are already available in retailers including Tesco, Boots, Superdrug, Holland & Barrett, Ocado, Whole Foods, WHSmith Travel.
Sainsbury’s now stocks a range of Flo’s bestselling products: Flo Bamboo Day and Night Pads, which are ultra-soft, super absorbent and made with 100% organic bamboo certified by Oeko-Tex and Ecocert; Flo Bamboo Liners, also made from 100% organic bamboo and home compostable materials; and Flo Eco-Applicator Tampons, made from 100% organic cotton with smooth sugarcane-based applicators and compostable wrappers.
“We are thrilled to be launching our Flo period products in Sainsbury’s,” says Susan C Allen, co-founder and chief brand office. “This partnership marks a significant milestone for us as we continue our mission to make accessible, affordable and adorable period care available to everyone.
“By offering our products in Sainsbury’s, we believe that we can reach more customers who are looking for sustainable and shamelessly natural options in the period care aisle. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this growth will have on our community and on the planet.”
Flo’s vibrant ‘sweet store’ style packaging gives ‘a cheeky nod’ to the cravings often experienced during periods but is underpinned by seriously ethical, organic and sustainable credentials, as well as a powerful social cause – each year, 5% of Flo’s profits are donated to charities such as Bloody Good Period, which fights period poverty; LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity akt; and Orchid Project, a global charity that works to end female genital mutilation.
