HQ relocation takes Body Shop back to its Brighton roots

The Body Shop is returning to its Brighton roots with the relocation of its head office from Littlehampton to the south coast city. 

The pioneering cruelty-free beauty retailer opened its first ever store in Brighton in 1976. The company says moving its offices to the city marks a “significant cultural reset” for the business, which returns “emboldened by its status as a city that celebrates diversity and creativity, with a vibrant youth culture”. 

The Body Shop’s new base will be at the Plus X Innovation hub, an eco-system of innovative businesses with a combined mission to drive positive change in the world. The company, which was rescued from administration in September, says the development is “the next stage in rebuilding and reimagining the future of our brand”.

The Body Shop has announced a major move of it’s head office headquarters to Brighton, marking a ‘significant cultural reset’ for the business following it’s rescue from administration.

CEO Charles Denton said: “As we work to rebuild and reimagine the future of our brand, it’s essential we foster an innovative and collaborative culture to make this next stage in the journey possible.

“Returning to Brighton reinforces the values upon which we were built, it’s a city that celebrates diversity and creativity, oozing irreverence and new ways of thinking stimulated by a vibrant youth culture.”
