Leading natural and organic industry innovators have been honoured at this year’s Natural & Organic Products Expo, held in London last week. 

Held on the evening of Monday 12th May, the innovation awards celebrated the most innovative products from brands at the event judge to be shaping the future of the sector. From clean beauty champions to sustainable food innovators, winners were chosen by a combination of public votes and expert judging. 

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award went to Ruth Hawthorne (pictured above), managing director at Natural Trade Brokers, in recognition of over 40 years service to the health food industry, the UK health trade. She told Natural Newsdesk: “I am extremely honoured to be recognised in the health food trade, it shows that hard work, good positive attitude, never letting anyone down and delivering what I have promised gets noted throughout my years in this trade. The messages I had from current people and people from my past was amazing. I am delighted for both myself and for Natural Trade Brokers.

The Best Independent Retailer award went Amaranth, and was collected on the evening by founder and owner, Joanne Hill (pictured, centre, with the Amaranth team). She said: “We couldn’t be more delighted to win Best Independent Retailer for Amaranth. For me, this is the highest achievement for an independent in our industry — the award I’ve always aspired to since opening the store 12 years ago. We first won the Best Independent Retailer at NOPE back in 2015, and to win again exactly 10 years later means the world to us. Over the past decade, we’ve grown as a team, invested in our knowledge, continued to seek out exciting new products, and found fresh ways to support and connect with our customers.
