Natural & Organic Products Expo, the UK’s leading trade showcase for the natural health, sustainable food and eco products industry for over 30 years, is being “discontinued for the foreseeable future”, organiser Diversified UK & Europe announced today.
The company says the move comes in response to a “rapidly evolving trading landscape” and follows two consecutive years of declining visitor numbers and reduced exhibitor participation. It says many brands in the natural wellness, health, and beauty categories have shifted their focus to more specialised events – with the result that NOPEX has found it increasingly difficult to meet the expectations of both exhibitors and buyers.
Strengthened focus on natural and organic food
Diversified says the development allows it to direct its full focus on the natural and organic food sector. Under plans announced earlier this year and confirmed today, the Natural & Organic Food Expo component of NOPEX will co-locate from next year with Diversified’s lunch! and National Restaurant Pub & Bar Show events to form the The London Food & Drink Shows (taking place at Excel London on 16 – 17 September 2026).
The company says the new alignment “will create a more powerful, targeted platform, bringing together the foodservice, hospitality, speciality retail, multiples and convenience sectors under one roof”. It believes the co-location will also give natural and organic food a stronger presence within a major mainstream exhibition, helping to raise awareness and reach new audiences more effectively.
Carsten Holm, managing director of Diversified UK & Europe says: “We’ve listened closely to our community, and we’re excited to offer a more focused, impactful platform for the natural and organic food and drink sector as part of The London Food & Drink Shows.
“At the same time, it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to NOPEX and to the many friends and partners in the natural health and beauty sectors who have supported the event for over 30 years. NOPEX was once among the world’s premier trade shows for our sector, playing a pivotal role in the success of countless brands and serving as hub for the UK’s independent health food trade.
“On behalf of the entire team at Diversified, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of this journey for your trust, support, and friendship. We hope to see many of you continue your involvement through the Natural & Organic Food Show.”
Maria Dawson, managing director at Clearspring comments: “We’re delighted to take part in the Natural & Organic Food Show next year, now part of the London Food & Drink Shows. It’s an exciting moment for the organic movement as it reaches a broader audience and finds its place in more everyday lives. We look forward to reconnecting with our customers and welcoming new conversations as we continue to share our passion for great-tasting, organic food made with care.”
David Morrin, commercial director at Wholefoods Wholesale comments “The Natural and Organic Products Expo has been the most essential trade event in Wholefoods Wholesales calendar. The other standout event annually for the last decade for our company has been lunch! While saddened by the news that NOPEX 25 was to be the last event of its kind I was heartened to hear the plans for events in 2026.
“I believe that the Natural & Organic Food Show is an evolution of both events, and I cannot wait to see how this turns out. It is going to bring about an eclectic mix of brands including industry stalwarts, new entrants and perhaps calling back brands that went other direction in recent years. The merging of events allows us to have a laser focus on food across all categories where sometimes we are distracted by trends in other categories at prior events.”
Natural Products Online to close
Diversified UK & Europe has announced it is closing Natural Products Online (NPO), its digital news platform for the natural & organic industry.
A digital transformation of Natural Products News – Britain’s former leading trade magazine for the natural and organic products industry, established in 1993 – NPO has served as a lively hub for industry insight, thought leadership and breaking news. However, in light of a shifting media landscape and evolving industry needs, the decision has been made to discontinue the site and its associated channels.
Holm added: “We are incredibly proud of the role NPO has played in supporting this vibrant community, and we are truly grateful to everyone who has read, contributed to, or supported it over the years. Thank you for being part of this journey. It has been an honour to share your stories.”
