Holland & Barrett has announced a new partnership with Well Pharmacy, the UK’s 2nd largest pharmacy chain in the UK. The collaboration launches with the opening of new concept store in Birchwood, Warrington.
The retailers say the partnership aims to make health, wellness and pharmacy support “easier to access in one convenient destination”.
The first store in Birchwood introduces a new layout designed to “integrate pharmacy and wellness services”. It features six dedicated Holland & Barrett bays and more than 300 own-brand products across vitamins, supplements, specialist foods and sports nutrition – the most comprehensive H&B has ever offered within a pharmacy setting.
Guy Farmer, chief commercial officer at Holland & Barrett, said: “We are excited to bring together two trusted health brands to create a new kind of customer experience – one that blends clinical expertise with holistic wellness. This partnership is an important milestone in our journey to make health and wellness accessible to everyone and to support them on their wellness journey. We’re proud to work with Well Pharmacy to deliver something truly innovative for customers.”
A prominent feature is Lift & Learn, Holland & Barrett’s interactive tech station designed to encourage product discovery. When a customer picks up a product, digital screens instantly display information such as benefits, ingredients and usage guidance, creating a more personalised and engaging shopping experience.
Andrew Caplan, chief retail officer at Well Pharmacy, said: “At Well Pharmacy, we see every day how much people value accessible, local healthcare. Partnering with Holland & Barrett strengthens what we can offer our communities by combining essential pharmacy services with evidence-based wellness support.”
As part of the partnership, Holland & Barrett’s Learning & Development team will provide enhanced wellness training to all Well Pharmacy colleagues. This training is designed to complement existing clinical expertise, ensuring customers receive joined-up support that blends medical insight with proactive wellbeing guidance.
Both retailers say the pilot store will monitored closely to evaluate the potential for future rollouts across additional locations nationwide.
