French specialist organic retail channel grew by 8.2% in 2025 to pass €4 bn mark

The French specialist organic retail channel grew by 8.2% in 2025 to be worth over €4 billion, according to new analysis by Plan Bio. 

Plan Bio contacted 22 specialist retail brands with questions about their financial performance over the year (with 19 responding). 

A graphic produced by the specialist media outlet shows that Biocoop remains the biggest operator by sales turnover (746 stores nationally), with Naturalia (214 stores), La Vie Claire (316 stores), Accord Bio (260 stores) and Satoriz Magasins Bio making up the remainder of the top five positions. 

Marcel & Fils and KoaliBio gave standout performance against 2024 sales figures (up 22.1% and 21.4% respectively), while Accord Bio and and Les Indep led the way in store expansion (by unit numbers), with 45 and 20 new store openings respectively.
