Holland & Barrett has added Doctor Seaweed’s Endo+ to its supplement line-up ahead of Endometriosis Awareness Month in March. The innovative plant-based supplement product was developed in collaboration with marine biologist Dr Craig Rose and endometriosis advocate Carla Cressy OBE, founder of The Endometriosis Foundation.
Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, commonly affecting the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bowel and pelvic lining. It is estimated to affect around one in ten women of reproductive age in the UK. Symptoms vary but frequently include chronic pelvic pain, painful periods, fatigue, digestive issues and fertility challenges. Despite its prevalence, diagnosis can take an average of seven to eight years, and treatment options currently focus on symptom management rather than cure.
Endo+ has been formulated to support hormonal health, energy, immunity, and a healthy inflammatory response as part of a wider wellbeing strategy.
The vegan-friendly supplement contains wild Scottish seaweed, which provides a natural source of iodine to support normal thyroid function. The thyroid plays a role in regulating metabolism and hormones, areas often highlighted by people living with endometriosis. The formulation also includes B-complex vitamins and selenium, which contribute to energy metabolism and immune function, alongside vitamin D3 for bone health, immune support and mood regulation. Doctor Seaweed founder, Dr Craig Rose, says the product was developed in response to feedback from customers seeking nutritional support alongside existing treatment plans. Carla Cressy OBE contributed to the formulation process, drawing on her personal experience of living with endometriosis and her work in advocacy and education.
The launch also includes a charitable element. For every unit sold, £1 will be donated to The Endometriosis Foundation to support awareness, education and advocacy initiatives.
