Mr Organic is partnering with award-winning Better Food to celebrate this year’s Organic September with a store takeover of all four of the retailer’s Bristol-based outlets.

Bristol-based influencer Elly Pear

Mr Organic is also bringing on board Bristol-based chef and influencer, Elly Pear, to create a dish that will be featured on the menu using its 100% organic products. The chef, who ran a café in the city for eight  years, has created her twist on a puttanesca, and Better Foods will feature her Chickpea ‘Puttanesca’ Style Salad in all its cafes. This salad contains Mr Organic’s Chopped Tomatoes, Red Lentil Rice, and its Chickpeas and Cannellini Beans in jars. This recipe will be shared on her Instagram page that has nearly 300 thousand followers, with recipe cards for shoppers to take home, and Mr Organic signage throughout the store.

Mr Organic will be encouraging customers to ‘Grab Some Organic this Organic September’ by reconnecting customers with organic food, sharing recipes, and telling its farm story. Valerio Simonetti, created the Italian organic brand in 2009 after he became the third generation to inherit his family tomato farm in Pontinia, Italy.

Better Food founder, Phil Haughton, with the broadcaster Mishal Hussain

The brand’s says its partnership with Better Food aligns perfectly, since the retailer’s founder, Phil Haughton, shares the same strong passion for sustainable, organic food. When Haughton was just 14 years old, his mother gifted him a Soil Association subscription. He started farming organically in a community in Scotland in 1974 before working on a City Farm in Bristol in 1981. Haughton started his own organic veg box scheme called Phil’s Better Food Campaign in 1992, and in 2002 he opened the first Better Food brick-and-mortar store in St Werburgh’s as a one-stop organic shop. His vision has always been to create a better, fairer food community. Even though Haughton stepped down in April 2026, he remains one of the UK’s biggest influences for organic food.

Valerio Simonetti, the founder of Mr Organic and third-generation tomato producer, said: “We are proud to partner with Better Foods this Organic September. With both of us sharing the same vision for wanting to make healthy, organic food accessible, we look forward to making a collective impact for Organic September. We hope that everyone who visits the cafes enjoys the special recipe that Elly Pear has created using Mr Organic’s products and will be inspired to make the switch to organic food that is better for our bodies and better for the planet.”

The Mr Organic team will be hosting a pop up at the St. Werburgh’s location on 18 September. There will be a special appearance from Haughton on the day, and the team will be sampling Elly Pear’s dish, and running a competition to win Mr Organic products.
