Planet Organic is set to launch a crowdfunding campaign to help realise its ambitious expansion plans. The pioneering organic food and wellbeing retailer plans to expand its store portfolio from the current 12 London outlets to 50 stores, in around the capital, by 2025.

The crowdfund is launching through crowdfunding platform Seedrs.

This month, it will open its first store outside of London, in Henley-on-Thames, while a new distribution centre in Sunbury brings major improvements to the brand’s supply chain. It has also launched its first own brand supplements range, Planet Originals.

George Dymond, Planet Organic CEO, said: “I’m delighted to invite people to join us on this hugely exciting next phase of the Planet Organic journey. A big part of the reason for our success up to this point is that we have a highly knowledgeable, passionate and evangelical customer base, and we’re really excited by the prospect of offering them an opportunity to buy a stake in our business, so they can feel even more a part of its future.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to the pre-reg phase. We’ve got big ambitions and a huge amount of belief in where Planet Organic can get to, and with the support of all our prospective investors and our friends at Seedrs, we can’t wait to see where it takes us.”

Chief Investment Officer, Kirsty Grant from Seedrs added:“Having such an established and well-loved brand crowdfunding through our platform is a real privilege. We’re delighted to have Planet Organic on board and look forward to working closely with the team there to make a success of the crowdfund and bring their exciting plans to fruition.”
