France’s Biocoop opened 7 new stores during summer months

Despite challenging trading and market conditions, France’s biggest specialist organic  retailer – Biocoop – is continuing to deliver on is ambitious expansion plans. 

During July, August and September Biocoop, which operates as cooperative,  opened seven new stores in Thuir, Charleville-Mézières, Sainte Foy les Lyon, Levallois Perret, Nogent-sur-Marne, Saint-Ouen and Carnoules. The latest additions mean that there are now over 770 stores operating across France under the Biocoop banner.

A leader in organic food distribution, Biocoop also stands out for its fair trade products and a very wide choice of eco-products and cosmetics. A key part of its mission is to influence societal choices and promote fairness and equity in farming and food production. 

Biocoop, which began life in 1986 as a small ‘activist co-op’, produced revenues of €1.6 billion in 2021.
