Suma has created a special planogram to illustrate the opportunity for convenience stores close to universities and education centres to entice students and ethically aware shoppers into their stores.
The planogram shows retailers how to optimise shelf space with food products with strong student appeal – from healthy snacking to plant-based milk and meal solutions.
Brands featured in the planogram include Love Raw, Oatly, Minor Figures, Manomasa, Clif Bars, Vego, Ricola, Biona, Peppersmith’s Suma’s own-label range.
Suma’s pitch to C-store operators is that a well-curated ethical and healthy food range would help them gain and retain new “savvy” student shoppers.
Suma’s Johnny Spencer told The Grocer: “We’ve done the hard work for retailers by carefully selecting a depth of range that goes hand in hand with student shopping. Students are more in tune with ethical shopping and sustainable brands and we’ve made sure that what’s on shelf fits the brief perfectly.”
