Gourmet meat alternative brand Symplicity Foods is partnering with plant-based meal delivery service Allplants, enabling its growing fanbase to experience its products at home.
Symplicity began life in 2019 when chef and restaurateur Neil Rankin began experimenting with fermented vegetables to “prove that plant-based ‘meats’ could still taste incredible without lots of processed powders”.
Today, Symplicity Foods is a UK-wide supplier to the restaurant and catering industry, working with some of the country’s top restaurants and Michelin star chefs.
The Symplicity product range began with burgers and sausages, and now includes minces, meatballs, sauces and bespoke products create for restaurant and catering clients. Instead of using soya or pea proteins, Simplicity created recipes using using fermented onions, beets and mushrooms. The company says its zero-waste production ethos ”pushes it to create distinctive products out of natural waste”.
Well regarded by leading chefs and critics – “head and shoulders above everything and everyone in the market place,” Tom Kerridge has said – Symplicity is now responding to growing demand from consumers for its products to be available through home delivery.
Symplicity’s partnership with Allplants initially sees its signature Cumberland sausage (£5.25 for four) and burger products (£5.25 for two) being made available for online order.
