Plant-based meal kit brand GRUBBY has published a colourful recipe book packed with over 60 of its recipes, along with tips and tricks to inspire home cooks to create nutritious vegan meals from scratch.

Grubby Recipe book coverThe quick and easy, low-calorie recipes are divided into three sections: Comfort Foods such as aubergine, lentil and courgette moussaka, butternut squash risotto or gochujang mac and ‘cheese’; Healthy Eats offering meals including Mexican black bean stew, sticky tofu rice noodle salad or Thai quinoa rainbow salad; and Fakeaway Treats, including sweet and sour tofu, black bean enchiladas, nduja and tenderstem pizza flatbreads and crispy tofu burgers.

GRUBBY Recipes also includes a breakdown of key store-cupboard ingredients and there’s even a handy directory with each recipe listed along with ‘delicious’, ‘not bad’ or ‘never again’ check boxes so you can keep track of your favourites.

“Let’s face it, vegan food often gets a bad rap,” says Martin Holden-White, who founded GRUBBY to make cooking with plants more accessible, fun and tasty. “Too many people think going plant-based means giving up some of life’s pleasures. GRUBBY was founded to prove this isn’t the case – 80% of our customers are simply people who want to moderate their meat intake and build more plants into their diets for the benefit of their health and the planet.”

GRUBBY supports and partners with family-run farms to provide seasonal produce, most of which is grown on organic British soil. All London meals are delivered via zero emission couriers and its meal boxes have pre-portioned ingredients to keep food waste to a minimum.

The recipe cards have easy-to-follow steps and nutritional information, but also QR codes linked to curated Spotify prep playlists.

The brand says its range has a growing foodie following, partnering with restaurant chain LEON and vegan authors and influencers BOSH! to develop recipes.
