Investment fund Bellingham Capital has acquired Independent Irish Health Foods (IIHF), owner of the True Natural Goodness brand, for an undisclosed sum.
IIHF is one of Ireland’s leading specialist health food wholesalers and recorded a turnover of around €25 million last year. The company operates out of a 24,000 sqft warehouse in Ballyvourney, Co Cork, which holds over 12,000 SKUs spanning pre-packs, chilled, frozen and ambient food and drinks, body care, household, gifts, baby products and lifestyle accessories.
Mark Goodman, founder and chief executive of Bellingham Capital told the Irish Times: “We are very pleased with this acquisition, our second in the healthy and sustainable food space. I would like to thank all the staff and customers of IIHF, who we look forward to working closely with in the coming months, and particularly the founders, Richard and Henry”.
Commenting on the development, Martha Brennan, Chair at Health Stores Ireland said: “We wish the new owners of True Natural Goodness and Independent Irish Health Foods every success and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the company to ensure that ethical sourcing, sustainability and innovation are at the heart of our consumer offering. We are delighted that Richard and the team at IIHF were able to conclude a successful transition and we hope the next chapter in their journey is as successful as the last and perhaps a little less stressful.”
